Stephanie Braithwaite - Facility director

Stephanie currently works as the Facility Director of Lily Pad Living, and helped to establish the network of recovery residences in February of 2018. After enduring various traumas herself as a child and teen, Stephanie became passionate about advocating for those with similar backgrounds. At 15 years old, she founded the Saving Stephanie organization- dedicated to sexual assault awareness and prevention. After dedicating many years to the San Joaquin County community, she then went on to attend University of the Pacific where she received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sociology and Gender Studies in 2015. While there, she worked as an advocate and peer educator in the Women’s Resource Center, providing resources and educational trainings to the college community.

After graduating, she relocated to the Central Coast and began working as a Community Outreach Coordinator and rape crisis advocate for a local rape crisis and child protection center. It was there that she realized the intersection between trauma, substance use, homelessness, and the need for transitional living spaces- and decided, with her family, to move back to Stockton.

Lily Pad Living was established soon after, with Stephanie’s mission to provide the community with a message of hope and healing. Stephanie continues to advocate for Lily Pad Living by building collaborative efforts with community partners, building a team of trauma-informed service providers, and has plans to open additional homes in the future.
